About the event

A workshop with yoga teacher Fran, that takes a positive approach to managing the anger, irritabity and rage that result from hormonal changes in women's monthly cycles, perimenopause and menopause. 

The transitions and changes in hormones throughout a woman's life and then also from her early 40s (or earlier in some medical situations) and into her 60s can bring huge changes in how we feel. Women should feel informed and equipped to not only cope but thrive in our hormonal cycles. This session offers you Yoga, breathwork, tools and techniques for managing these experiences in your everyday life. The yoga offered is a specifically designed therapeutic style of yoga. 

This session will be a positive and empowering morning giving you information, techniques, and tools to help calm your hot emotions and channel the energy into a release through the body. The approach incorporates Western medical science and Eastern wellbeing to create a holistic guide. We will talk about irritability symptoms including the experience of anger, irritability including the now well documented 'Menorage' - plus, how stress can make symptoms worse. The morning includes:

  • A short overview of why we experience a surge in anger as hormones change
  • A blend of western medical science, such as HRT and hormone changes and, Eastern wellbeing, looking at Indian Ayurveda and Chinese Traditional Medicine
  • Sharing together with other women
  • Some information about vitamins, nutrition and natural remedies
  • A yoga practice to release anger and calm body and mind.
  • Time to reflect, journal, think and be still.

The session is suitable for all levels, including beginners.

We have everything you will need at the studio but please feel free to bring your own mat or blanket if you wish to.
