Service Description

30minute yoga therapy taster sessions. Anyone is welcome, regardless of presentation, just a desire to experience yoga therapy. Yoga therapy adopts a holistic approach, utilising yogic practices that address mind, body, and spirit to facilitate Health Seekers (clients) in deeper exploration of their physical, mental, and emotional health. Yoga Therapy is based on the concept that our body knows the score, and the answers we seek can be found within, we simply need the tools to guide our connection with these innate responses to health and well-being. Yoga therapy is a client-centred system of health and healing where the format of a session will very much depend on the needs of the Health Seeker at that particular time. The Health Seeker will be guided though practices to support their awareness and connection to self in order to facilitate their healing journey. A “typical” yoga therapy session might include some, or all, of the following elements: Initial Consultation; Physical practice of asanas; Breathwork; Meditation and Mindfulness; Chakra and Energy Work and “Integration”. To participate in a yoga therapy session, it is not necessary to have any previous experience in yoga; there are no expectations of super flexibility or being able to stand on your head (unless that’s something you want to do)! Just a willingness to open up to possibilities and new adventures. A little about me: I spent a number of years working as a yoga teacher, holistic therapist and reiki master before going on to qualify as an Occupational Therapist; I have been working as a health and social care professional for the past 14 years, specialising in physical rehabilitation. For many years I have felt drawn to return to my previous background of health and healing and had the opportunity to embark on a Yoga Therapy programme with Yoga United; this course brought together all my previous experience and knowledge as well as introducing me to whole other ways of working with people in a therapeutic way, and I love it �� I am offering some free “taster” sessions at Yoga Space, on the 7th March. Each session will be one-to-one and last approximately 30minutes. There will be an expectation of the Health Seeker to complete an Intake Form and to give some consideration as to an intention for the session (though this may well be different on the day – and that’s absolutely fine!). Cancellation Policy

To cancel or reschedule please contact us at least 24 hours before the session starts. Any bookings cancelled after the 24 hour period will not be refunded or rescheduled. Please be really mindful of others - if you can't make the class, cancel so someone else can take your place. Thank you for choosing to support your local yoga studio.
