THE MIND 15 DAYS OF YOGA CHALLENGE

Supporting local mental health

15 minutes of yoga a day for 15 days for £15. 

You get to practice yoga every day for 15 days, your donation goes to support Scarborough, Whitby & Ryedale Mind
Although affiliated to the national Mind UK charity, this local charity relies 100% on applying for its own grants and running local fundraising in order to meet the local demand for their services.  
Countless studies show a connection between yoga and improved mental health so this might support how you are feeling too!
Yoga isn't about bending into unimaginable shapes, it's about finding quietness inside and connecting with your body. 
This series of 15 days of yoga offer you a range of videos to choose from each day on our website (below) and gives you 4 free studio classes at Scarborough Yoga Space. You could also use another online video, or you can attend your usual yoga class, or explore self practice. As long as you practice for at least 15 minutes a day or longer, for the 15 days and record your activity in the online programme, you have completed the challenge. You might be surprised at the results - studies have shown just 15 minutes each day can rewire the brain and boost your mood. 
Start each day from scratch - attending a 1 hour class shouldn't count for 4 days - you will feel the benefits much more if you practice every day. Good luck!

SIGN UP AND A FEW QUESTIONS ANSWERED

HOW DO I SIGN UP?

You sign up here on our membership page. You are not signing up for a membership - it is a one-off payment that goes directly to our local Mind charity. Once you sign up you will have access to the video content to help you complete your challenge, 4 free classes at Scarborough Yoga Space, plus online support via a daily prompt to complete your practice.

HOW DO I COMPLETE THE CHALLENGE

You sign up anytime from the 7th to the 16th October and from the day you sign up, you have 15 days to complete 15 days of yoga. 
There are 15 minute and 1 hour sessions on the website for you to use. You can use other online videos or you can go to a class, or complete self practice. 
Each day you will be prompted via our online programme to record what you have done that day - be truthful, the challenge is for you, no one will chase you to check up what you have done, but you will need to record something each day to complete the challenge.

I HAVEN'T DONE YOGA BEFORE, CAN I STILL JOIN?

Yes absolutely. There are videos on the challenge channel that are specifically aimed at those who haven't practised before and those who like a lovely gentle pace. There are also plenty of classes at the studio (you have 4 free sessions) you can go to as a beginner.

CAN I COMPLETE THE CHALLENGE BY GOING TO OTHER STUDIOS AND CLASSES

Yes, 100%. Sign up and use your usual classes or online content to complete the challenge - just make sure you record what you did each day to complete the challenge.

WHAT DO I GET AT THE END OF THE 15 DAYS?

You get joy from knowing you have supported someone going through a tough time in your local community. This is the first time we have done this challenge - if you think you should get a reward, let us know for next time!
